sleevebabe 6 Posted July 22, 2017 I'm getting my surgery August 1st. I'm excited and scared at the same time. My emotions are all over the place. I even thought about canceling the surgery, but then I thought about this 5 year struggle to lose the weight and didn't. Did anyone else experience this? What did you do? up4challenge 54 Posted July 22, 2017 @sleevebabe: I went through something similar the day before the surgery (on my way to the hospital) and on the surgery day itself. When the nurse came in and told me to have bath by 4 a.m. and be ready for the surgery at 6 a.m. and I did tell my mom twice that I’d like to run away and she could pay the 1 day hospital fee and come home later . Don’t worry too much and stress yourself. I was finally sleeved at 6.30 am on December 17, 2017. It is a little over 6 months now and I end up laughing everytime thinking about how I wanted to run away just on the day of surgery. Trust me the surgery is worth every penny invested and I could not be happier. I wish you the best of luck with your surgery. 1 sleevebabe reacted to this

larta 26 Posted July 22, 2017 I wanted to back out. I was nervous. I criticized myself for wanting to do something, that seemed so drastic. I bit the bullet and moved forward. I kept thinking once I wake up from surgery , its done. Well, July 10, I had it. I am recovering wonderfully and am so glad I did it. Best to you and hang in there. I think you will be very glad you did. 1 sleevebabe reacted to this

TroyinVermont 5 Posted July 29, 2017 I avoided the consultation forever. Finally, I bit that bullet. Then, as the day got closer for surgery, I kept thinking of every reason why I shouldn't do it. In the end, my surgery went well, my early recovery was excellent and now 4 months post-op, I believe that this surgery was the best thing I have ever done for myself. Really, one month post-op left me feeling better physically than I had in years. Also, I felt (and continue to feel) better about myself and this decision. I wish that everyone who struggles with their weight could experience this!
