Hello, I am new here, Just joined, post-op 11 days now and I am curious...Will there ever come a day where I will not have to just sip my drink? Or is this a forever thing?

You might always need to drink a smidge slower than preop, but now at 4 months postop, I can drink about 6- 8 ounces in less than a minute. Not quite chugging, but not sipping either.

I am 11days post op too. I have hard time getting my full quota of Water daily because of little sips. It's good to know that gets easier!

It is not a forever thing at all.

I drink normally at 2 years. I can guzzle with the best of them.

I was drinking normally at year 1 also. Just less than I am now.

At 6 months I could take normal size drinks, just not as much capacity.

Of course there will be. Just be patient. Everyone will be able to at different times. I was able to almost a month post op, some people took longer more like 6 months post op, but you'll get there. Just try really hard to always avoid eating and drinking at the same time. For me that can still be painful at times.
