And to be honest, I don't let it hold me back. I just remember it. I mean, you wouldn't forget that a particular dog bit you, would you? I mean, you might still love the dog and pet it every day, but you don't look at it the same way anymore. You don't give it the chance to bite you again.

The story that I always remember is the little girl on a hike up a mountain. It began snowing, and she spotted a snake. It was freezing to death and pleaded for her to pick it up and warm it. When the little girl did, the snake bit her. As she lay dying, the snake slithered away, she called after it saying:

"Why? Why did you do this to me?"

The snake replied:

"You knew what I was when you picked me up!"

Wow, Chelle! You are really trying to analyze Lauren's psyche....but cannot offer any insight into the behavior of "good friend's" . The friendships made through years of OH must not offer much insight but you sure are good with strangers!

:scared:Bravo!

Oh well, too late now anyway. I might as well say what I think. OH has become boring as shit since the "old timers" have ran everyone off. They are coming over here to keep from falling asleep! They know we have a place where drama, bitching, and just plain ole "pissing in each other's coffee" is allowed. Let's face it, it is fun. That is why we are here. When I read over at OH, it is all I can do to keep from falling asleep. Yep, there is some good info, but there is here too. Plus, we have this R&R forum where we can raise hell if we want without fear of posts being removed, being moderated to death, etc.

Even better, over here the threads are organized into catagories so that a person can read only the threads that interest them, such as "Newbies" & "Fills", (My favorites).

Over there everything is all jumbled onto one thread, so all the worthless crap gets mixed in.

I don't like having to read all the drivel about non-band-related topics, which absolutely dominate that board.

And *IF* I feel like wallowing in the mud, I can come to RNR.

Moderated! That's for damn sure!

I'm on forever moderation I think! HA! I'm going to have to come up with a new ID. Oh wait... I already did. It's another obvious one but I'm not announcing it this time. Each time anyone finds out who I am (not that it's tough to figure out since I make it bloody obvious) I am reported. So I'm not announcing this time. People will figure it out.

But I really don't go over there often. Just when someone sends me a link to something amusing Sandy writes.

Frankly, I don't see why any intelligent person would spend time over there.

And you can actually FIND the good info here. OH's format made me want to slam my head into a wall.

Finding ACURATE information EASILY is where LBT absolutely SHINES!

Also, it is an "enter at your own risk" kinda thing....you are not forced to go through and read it to get to other info. You can avoid this forum entirely when you don't want to get in the mud. That is what I love about it.

Exactly. Sort of like how I had some time just now, and wallowed through 11 pages of this dreck (In the German sense).

I see it's the same ol' same ol'.

Denial, denial, denial.

But hey you got to hear about Nancy's plans for the weekend. That should bring back fond old memories of OH posting.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
