my doc says it is common for some to gain weight before the first fill -One week I was up 3 lbs- then the next week I was back down- I have only lost 2 lbs in last 3 weeks- my fill is next week- don't worry:) I have heard of some getting blood clots- I was told to walk , walk, walk especially during the first couple of weeks to help avoid this

I think there are two different kinds of clots being discussed here. A clot at the incision site is different from one in an artery where it can travel to the lung.

Another thing that is really common is scar tissue at the port site. It's hard, people swear THAT is their port and it isn't, it's scar tissue. It usually goes away for most in a few weeks.

I lost 14lbs just after my surgery, then started on my solids and gained it ALL back. It is a common thing, and people say that the time of healing is not for loosing but for healing and getting back to eating normal. I also experienced the large lump close to my port. I was told it was just some residual swelling and it would go away! Sure enough 1 month later it was gone. I can still feel a lump, but it is my port.
