PrayingForWeightLoss 337 Posted July 17, 2017 I am 4 day preop and ready to eat my husband and children. I am that hungry! I can have 3 Protein Shakes and approved low carb vegetables. Newme17 3,444 Posted July 17, 2017 For me it was about day 4 or 5 that it truly became easier. After that I didn't even really miss eating. Hope this happens soon for you. Whatever the outcome, stay focused and remember you're doing this for your liver and a better surgery. You can do this. GingerBananaBelly 88 Posted July 17, 2017 Odd... I just had this conversation with my doctor today. Apparently I rushed my diet. I'm six weeks out and on regular foods. He told me I should still just be on soft foods. I told him I was just so hungry. He said, "No, you weren't. You just needed a variation on texture." I promise you - it gets easier! Berry78 4,261 Posted July 18, 2017 Trust me, this is the worst of it. I was completely miserable during the first few days of the preop diet. Low sodium v8 really did help me a bunch, ask if you can drink a big glass of that every day. (I didn't have veggies on my preop diet.. just the 3 shakes.. so I cheated with the v8.. SHHHH! MaggieH2 50 Posted July 18, 2017 It is terrible! I felt the same way.... flavor ite makes sugar free freeze pops, they are on Amazon and they helped me out alot. I am day 8 post op... I rolled into surgery with my stomach growling and have not been hungry since. Seriously, I would have never believed it! I have even cooked for my family and I couldn't have cared less!
