Chavon88 22 Posted July 15, 2017 Hi everyone, I am going into week 5 I was sleeved on 6/19 and I have gained 3lbs! I just saw the doctor this week and he said I am doing fine, I'm even cleared for regular food. I am worried that I am gaining weight and not losing any right now. What should I do or what shouldn't I do at this point? Any meal ideas would be awesome also!Sw 238CW 212Gw 160ish
char3672 292 Posted July 15, 2017 I am so frustrated! I was sleeved June 14 and I lost 14lbs right away (I assume from all of the fluids I was given in the hoapital) but since then, I have only lost 3. I have been cleared for all foods since day 6 post op. I know I'm not drinking enough and I'm not exercising. I just joined a gym, so I am hoping that gives me the kick start I need. Lisette703 8 Posted July 16, 2017 You've been cleared to eat regular foods since day 1? I can't imagine that helps with the healing process of the sleeve. 1 scooterbyrd reacted to this

I tried for about a week, and then decided to go back to soft foods like yogurt, I don't think I was ready for the food yetSent from my SM-G930T using BariatricPal mobile app 1 Missy161 reacted to this
Nikki871112 13 Posted July 18, 2017 I am in the same frustrating position. I was sleeved 6/9 and lost 15 lbs in 10 days. I have not lost anything since. It is really frustrating and super disappointing. I can't really help with your questions, just wanted to commiserate [emoji30]. 1 Coco Rae 40 reacted to this
Coco Rae 40 2 Posted July 18, 2017 Just joining the conversation. I got sleeved May 1st and I was 303. When I got home as of this week July 17th I'm 273 I thought that I would have lost more in damn near 3 months. Needless to say I'm not empressed yet. Most ppl that I follow has list 70-80 pounds by month 6. Not to mention that I also can eat about 7 ounces depending on what food it is. I almost feel like my doctor doesn't do the procedure the way most doctors do it. I shouldn't be able to put anything in my body and be fine right now. Missy161 395 Posted July 18, 2017 I was sleeved 6/22 and have lost 17 lbs since surgery day but none in a week. I'm wondering if my bowel habits or lack there of are causing the stall. Ive been on meats and cheese since day 5 so I should be "moving" but it's not working. Tried milk of magnesia yesterday but it was nasty. What's working for me (It took 10days to work) is Miralax and 3 stool softeners everyday. At day 7 of no poo I got Smooth Move and day 8 was a good day. I was freaking out. Never took that long. Not much weight loss either. 6 weeks 23 lbs. 3 lbs in last 3 weeks. 1 Missy161 reacted to this

NikkiPen 51 Posted July 23, 2017 What are you doing for exercise, and how often? Are you meeting your Protein goals and fluid goals? Or do you still struggle due to not eating regular foods yet?HW 370, SW 350, SD 6/20/

Sent from my Z981 using BariatricPal mobile app It is really unlikely you can eat 7 ounces of food IF you are following the rule Protein FIRST, VEGETABLES SECOND. Most of us can eat endless quantities of slider foods and larger quantities of liquids/soft foods. 3 weeks ago I mindlessly ate potato chips and there was no restriction whatsoever (fortunately I stopped myself quickly). I can eat a 5 oz Siggis yogurt with no restriction either - but that food is 15 G protein and 13 G Carbs/sugars. When I eat a solid, lean animal protein I can barely do 2 oz at a time. But 7 oz of a dense protein? No freaking way. Now, if you are eating 7 ounces of dense protein, you should definitely contact your surgeon because your sleeve should not be able to hold that much food. You are 3 months out and have lost 30 lbs. The sleeve does not work magic. You have to WORK THE SLEEVE. Anytime you don't do that it WILL cost you progress in your weight loss. I would recommend you track everything you eat and drink and if you are not following the PROTEIN FIRST principle, start following it. You can see my weight loss below - I am now at about 3 lbs a week. I am tweaking as I go. I have just added training/exercise into my routine. I think I can get this up to loosing 4, maybe 5 lbs a week for the next few months but we shall see. 2 dreamingsmall and Missy161 reacted to this
Missy161 395 Posted July 23, 2017 [quote post="4489708" I had about 3 ounces of a sugar free iced mocha at mcdonalds and that was enough to start me back up. Missy161 395 Posted July 23, 2017 You are so right about tracking! I track every morsel bad or good in spark people. It helps know my Protein and calories. So far I have only gone over 600 calories twice.Mich WHw 223, SW 217 CW 199 GW
niseys4 130 Posted July 23, 2017 Hello everyone! I havent had my sleeve yet. Im scheduled for Aug. 16th. However, My Sister & 1 of my daughters have! They have told me their storys of their pros & cons of their post op diets. So I've started to do more research & I found that Ketogenics might be a good eating program FOR ME, to try now & after my surgery. Check out Dr Eric Berg on youtube under Keto diet. He is very informative & explains things that are easy to understand! For Example: he mentions how Apple Cider Vinegar helps to put your body back to it's natural Ph balance which helps with weight loss, Constipation, etc. Most of you may already know about the benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar. I did too but the way he explains it was way more informative!! Amazing info![emoji106] So check him out. You just might loose your frustrations!Sent from my SM-T530NU using BariatricPal mobile app 1 Missy161 reacted to this
