Oh, I wanted to add - I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's years before I had the band. My thyroid is still intact. I was told I need to be on synthroid for the rest of my life, which is fine with me. However, the amount I take varies on my weight. I'm sure my endocrinologist will find that I need to be on a lower dose due to the weight loss - and that will slow down my weight loss. I'll just keep on following the rules and hope that at some point, I'll get to my goal weight.

I am on week three of my band to sleeve conversion and I tell you I just had a moment where I wanted to purge band style. I am on day 2 soft solids , week three post op. I made my first scrambled egg, and even eating it ever so slow its not going down. I have a lot of behavior that i have to change.

My band was empty for the last 6 months prior to surgery and I gained fast and furious and ended up really depressed. I am overjoyed that I have been revised. I am really trying to do everything right this time. Part of me knows that with such a high failure rate the band design or concept was a lot of why I failed, but I have to look at my side of the road and do better this time.

any stories about how and what changes you are all making band to sleeve conversion will be really helpful for me.

warm regards,

Dawn Marie

These stories give me hope. Doing lap band removal and gastric sleeve March 19. I am concerned about possibility of excess scar tissue. If that is found I might not be able to have sleeve at same time. Well, I have to take this one day at a time. I know I am a strong woman, and at 73 have lived thru a lot. I can do this. It's all so I can have a healthy life and be here for my new grandbaby!! Wish me luck!

Beautiful baby! I’m keeping my fingers crossed for little scar tissue! Good luck if I don’t catch you before surgery!
