If you don't own a scale and why?

I definitely agree that it is what's best for you and I am glad that it was said a few times by different people... what works for one won't work for another and part of this journey is figuring what works best for you.

I weigh every day as soon as I get up in the morning. If it is up an ounce or two or stays the same I realize it can be because of Fluid or something else (maybe haven't gone to the bathroom). A small fluctuation does not throw me over the edge. The only thing that matter to me is how I am doing over the long term, not the day to day weight fluctuations

An ounce or two? Mine jumps around by a pound or two. I do notice that the lighter I am, the less dramatic the jumps..(it used to jump by 3 lbs, but now it's usually closer to 1) so the closer to goal we are, perhaps the more consistent the number we see.

I got a scale when I started the process to track the weight loss they wanted. However, I mostly go by body measurements, increase muscle, and how my clothes fit. Weight is tricky, especially once you workout and gain muscle.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
