I think people are talking about two different things.
One, folks extrapolating and addressing the OP as if reverting to binge eating and sabotaging their entire life/process.
Two, folks extrapolating and addressing the OP's statement that they understand they over-ate and trying to find their balance.
The OP specifically said they are not looking to punish themselves but acknowledged Portion Control as an issue they need to keep working on. I think admonishing or guilt/shaming a person or trying to scare them is not the way to support our process. I believe in encouraging people to accept and recognize they made mistakes or missteps, using that to learn and grow, and not making ourselves feel so bad that we have guilt (Which, to be honest, is one of my BIGGEST food triggers. Guilt over my own food choices) because that leads to self-hate which leads to sabotaging.

Thank you! That was exactly what I was acknowledging when I made my post. I know that it wasn't a good choice to eat the doughnuts but I did and I survived. I did not go backwards, nor did I binge on their foods, I can't eat that much anyway. I am a constant work in process. I'm pretty sure I will be fine. My nutritionist wanted me to lose 30lbs by the time I see her mid August, I've already lost 32lbs with a month to go. I think I will survive.

My neighbor gained a lot of her weight back after RNY because she believed she could eat what she used to just in smaller portions. Now she's back on a diet like she used to be and really down about it. Good article.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
