I'm in the same boat. I think it's definitely going to get worse for awhile before it gets better again.

At some point soon, we're really going to be looking forward to eating baby food. ;-). Heck, I'm excited at the idea of having an egg or cottage cheese again someday.

4.5 weeks after my surgery, I'm traveling to participate in a charity 5K in support of a friend. We all went last year and stayed at the same hotel next to a well-known local truck stop/diner.

Every time I think about the trip, I get excited thinking about how delicious those mashed potatoes are going to be! That's about the only thing on the menu I'll be able to eat! Last night, I actually looked up their menu just to see.

Doing the walk 60+ lbs lighter than last year is going to be awesome though.

lol it's funny that we have to look up things before we get there but it's a smart thing to do! You'll feel light as a feather : )

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
