DropWt4Life 957 Posted July 13, 2017 Excuse me in advance for my ignorance! I understand that you shouldn't drink liquids at least 30 minutes before and after meals. My question is...What if Soup or stew is on the menu for the meal? How should we go about eating these or should we avoid them altogether?
opie7799 69 Posted July 13, 2017 I treat them as food so I wait the 30 minutes after liquid and vice versa 2 Julie norton and PrettyGyrl reacted to this
Missy161 395 Posted July 14, 2017 My bariatric nurse practitioner said to separate the liquid from the food and eat them separately. I'm going to check in with her about that again. When I was drinking Premier Protein shakes in the hospital hey had me separate them from Water with the 30 min in each side which I don't quite understand because it is liquid. Maybe it's just for discipline reasons. 1 LoseitNat reacted to this
NikkiPen 51 Posted July 14, 2017 I consider my premier shakes a meal and separate them too. If nothing else, than for like what Missy161 said, discipline reasons or staying in the habit. But if you puree your chunky Soup, then that should be a meal together. Like cream of potato soup with skim milk, I added canned chicken and some fresh baked butternut squash, then blend it up just enough for mainly drinking.HW 370, SW 350, SD 6/20/17 1 Missy161 reacted to this
