Kayla Monee 7 Posted July 12, 2017 Hi everyone, I'm 6 days post op, before the surgery i was side sleeper, now after the surgery i have to sleep on my back and i hate it!. I'm not sore any more from the surgery. I don't know why its so difficult to sleep in the bed, I tried to last night and woke up around 1 a.m. and went downstairs to go sleep back in the recliner. Is this normal? Did any of you have any trouble sleeping? Or did you sleep the same after surgery with no issues.
SleevedinSI 58 Posted July 13, 2017 I was a side sleeper too. I did sleep a lot the first two weeks in the recliner. I was able to sleep on my side using a pillow to support my stomach. I was able to get some sleep with that method . Just like when I was pregnant prop a small accent pillow under your belly. Should be better in a week or so. 1 Kayla Monee reacted to this
Joann454 1,329 Posted July 13, 2017 Ugh yes! I am a side sleeper. I was lucky and able to at least sleep on my right side after a week. Doc told me a lot of people sleep in a recliner at first. It gets better! After two weeks I didn't even feel like I'd had surgery. 1 Kayla Monee reacted to this

For a week after surgery I slept on the couch because I couldn't lay completely flat and I was just so uncomfortable. Hang in there. It gets better! 1 Kayla Monee reacted to this
gwbicster 257 Posted July 13, 2017 A month out and sleeping on my side is still occasionally uncomfortable, but I can do it. After surgery I had to sleep on my back. Previous to the surgery I felt like I was too heavy to do this, but I adjusted. The drugs kept me stoned enough to have no problem sleeping- I think I could have done it standing if necessary! 3 Kayla Monee, GotProlactinoma and Sosewsue61 reacted to this

OutsideMatchInside 10,166 Posted July 18, 2017 I slept on my side and my stomach on night 3 or 4 by supporting my stomach. Wearing a binder or some light Shapewear will hold you in tighter and it shouldn't be an issue.
