My surgeons office has a generic calorie guide of about 600 calories for my stage (3 months post op). I struggle to go that low- I generally end up around 800-900. I am still losing... Should I be limiting myself more? I am eating healthy- non starchy, high Protein, low fat. Thoughts?

I just want to make sure I am making the most of my honeymoon period.

I see no problem with the caloric intake you listed at 3 months. To clarify, I see no problem with 900 calories/day.

Well on one hand you should listen to your doctor, but on the other hand you're loosing weight. Personally I think if you're loosing weight then you're not taking in too much

For me in two years since my sleeve I've never tracked my calories, even today I don't know how many calories I'm taking in

Mine has me to go up to 1000 calories at 6 weeks. Then work my way up to 1500 and stay there.

Wow, 600 sounds really low. I'm almost 4 months out, 800-900 and have been told I'm too low and need to get more food in. As long as you are loosing, I don't see why you should go so low.

By 3 months my NUT wanted me to be up around 1000 calories and work my way up to 1200 calories and then stay there until after a year post op. She also say that she wanted me right about 45g of carbs for the first 6 months and then around 90-100 grams after that.

My surgeon said by 6 weeks he wants me at 800 a day so that surprises me. I haven't made it there yet but I've been on purees. I switch to soft foods today (3 weeks post-op).

I have never been given a calorie number.... I was told to track Protein and Water consumption I only know my calorie number from the app I use which also track calories and I hover around 800 or a little less

I am about 2 and half months out and I can barely get over 500 calories a day. I try to get more but it never works. I can only eat 2 oz at a time. I think 900 calories is perfectly reasonable, especially if you are still losing.

I am at 900 calories and was told to get 90g Protein and around 70oz of Fluid a day which has been no problem for me I tend to keep my sugars low around 30-40g a day for six meals and my carbs no more than 110g a day and so far in tow and half months I have lost almost 70lbs since surgery with walking and light weighted resistance band work out

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
