I'm seriously getting pissed off with my stall

Im doing everything right. I been stalled for over the a month almost 2 I take my Vitamins, I drink my 64oz of Water I consume about 60-90 grams of Protein I exercise I have switched up my routine and nothing I have done is working I'm almost 4 months post op this is extremely frustrating and I feel like giving up there's nothing I can do to make the scale go down this is bullshit and the surgery only worked for a little bit. I don't understand how one can follow the rules physically can't eat less but don't loose anything

My nutritionist told me that if I stall, try increasing my calories. How many calories are you taking in now? What are your carbs like?

I stay under 50 carbs a day and I consume about 1300 a day

Maybe try to change it up on different days. Like 1000 calories 30g carb, then 1200 cal 35g carb then 1100 cal 30g carb.

For me 50 g of carb would have my body storing fat. I know it is different for everyone so if this doesn't apply to you just ignore my advice.

This was going to be my advice too. Lower the carbs to 20-30 grams. If it doesn't work then lower the calories while keeping the carbs low. At least to bust out of the stall.

are you measuring yourself as well? The scale is not the only thing that will show your success.

I would call the nutritionist and give her your daily food journal so she can help you out. My first thought would be to lower the calories and lower the carbs a little. If your still trying to lose I think 800-1200 calories is what should be consumed based on questions I've asked my nutritionist. Any more than that would be to maintain weight or gain.

I'm sending you a hug. I stalled for most of the puree and soft food stage. Now that I'm eating real food the scale started moving again. 80 to 100g Protein and trying to keep up 1000 calories.
I would also look at adding healthy fats. I did that plus increased my Water.< br>Keep up with it. We're here with you.

I feel like I could have written this post! I'm 8 weeks out from surgery and I've been stuck for 3 weeks. It's so frustrating. I've lost 14 pounds since surgery. I'm getting 70 g of Protein , averaging about 42 grams carbs, 32 g fat, and about 700 callories. Getting about 50 oz of Water on average. I've heard eat more, eat less - i try and get more water in but it's tough. I don't exercise a lot but try and get on the exercise bike at least every other day. Just thought with as little as I'm eating and no alcohol compared to my past life (!) it would come off easier. What am I doing wrong?

Oh, how I wish this was true. A pound of muscle weighs the same as a pound of fat; they are both a pound. Yes, muscle is more dense than fat, which means you can have less body mass in muscle and weigh more, but a pound is a pound is a pound no matter if it is muscle or fat. :(

yes, a pound is a pound, but mass and weight are two different things. The mass of 5 lbs of fat is far bigger than the mass of 5 lbs of muscle. Science YO! I love it!!!

The point is...measure yourself. You may be converting fat to muscle, thus losing mass - which is really our main goal. To be smaller.

Talk to your nut. But I agree with others. Lower the carbs and kcals. 1200-1300 is probably maintenance for many people. Certainly not loosing.

Also add some healthy fat . Evoo or some coconut oil. This is assuming you are eating low fat.

      Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

      The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

        Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
