August 30th Sleever here. I know much later than most on this stream. I go for pre-op and diet starts the 16th. (13 Days!!! WHOA!!) It is starting to feel much more real.

Hi there! I'm August 25th so we are in a similar boat! Definitely starting to feel real. I'll be starting pre-op on the 13!

Lapband revision to sleeve completed! My surgery went well, I came home today-on Stage 1-clear SF liquids...can't wait for Stage 2! Good luck everyone!! BTW dont weigh your self immediately post-op, they pump you with so much IV fluids you will likely weigh more than you did pre-op.

Hi! I'm scheduled of August 7th as well. Waiting for these last few days to go by has been rough. I am super excited, but also very nervous.

Best of luck on Monday!

Hey August Sleevers!!! I just had my hiatal hernia repaired and gastric sleeve surgery yesterday, I was discharged from the hospital today. I'm in some pain, I'm waiting for the meds to kick in. I get full rather quickly drinking Water. Any advise because I'm worried about getting my water and Protein intake each day.

How are you doing?

I'm doing great, had a lot of pain immediately after but they got it under control pretty quickly. No nausea, meds are taking care of the pain. Hopefully home tomorrow! Thanks for asking how it went.

Right now just chillin' in a recliner watching tv and sipping my Water [emoji2]

Good luck to everyone having surgery this week! Mine is Tuesday. The preop diet is killing me which has made me truly ready for the surgery. Sorry to be a whiner lmao but I'm so ready for them to cut my stomach off so I'm not this starving all the time!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
