Any other RNY-ers constantly stalling? I feel like I'm losing weight for 4 or 5 days and then stalking for a week and a half- 2 weeks. It's frustrating.

Yup -- me too -- been at the same weight for about 2 weeks now -- kinda depressing -- is there anything we should be doing different

I hit a stall 2 weeks after surgery, that lasted 2 weeks. Then I lost for another week & have been stalled ever since. It's making me lose my mind and I feel as if I'm not losing weight as rapidly as others.

focus less on weight. more on how clothes fit and how you feel.

switch up exercise. up the Water.

stop obsessing about a largely meaningless number. (i.e. stop weighing yourself. a crossfit instructor told me my first mandatory workout is to go home and run your scale out to my trash can at the end of the driveway)

I am the same way. I have been tracking my weight in MFP, and writing down my measurements monthly. My weight has been the same for 2.5 weeks, but my waist is getting smaller.

I have also noticed that after the first 3 months of constant losing, I will gain a couple pounds of Water weight during ovulation and lose like crazy right after Aunt Flo leaves town.

I would suggest tracking the fluctuations and paying attention to your TOM if you are a lady, this pattern will make more sense when you see it on a graph. 😀

Me too. Has my 6 month post op with my surgeon/Doctor yesterday and he said this is normal and being under a year will definitely lose more weight. However it is most important to keep to the Water, Protein, and liquid requirements along with consistency on this and Vitamins. As long as you are feeling more energy and clothes are fitting better the weigh is coming off so don't focus on the scale so much. I only weigh myself ONCE a week and stick to my workout regiment but also I have challenged myself here by downloading Aaptiv. All the best and we will do great!

Don't let what the scales say get you down. You are most likely gaining pounds of muscle mass while at the same time, losing percentage of body fat. This is good. You should notice your loss in inches in your clothes. You won't lose on the scale everyday. Try waiting and weighing only once a week for awhile.

OMG!!!! I'm in the same boat and I am so glad to hear that I am not alone to experience a stall so early in my weight loss journey. I had my surgery on July 14, 2017. I was losing 3-4 pounds per day immediately after surgery and then it tapered off to 1 - 1.5 pounds per day. At the end of week 2 post-op, I stalled. In fact, at some point during week 3 I gained 1 pound. For the past 10 days, I have been at the same weight. I exercise daily (I walk 5km per day on a treadmill) and I make sure I eat enough Proteins. I follow the eating plan I was given. My Water intake is ok, but not that great. I can only manage about 750 ml per day (+/-). My biggest downfall is weighing myself every single day. I realize now that the scale is my enemy when I do that. I will try to see how I am doing only once a week. In the meantime, I try on clothes that didn't fit me before and pride myself on the inches lost.

I only stall out during that time of the month then start back up three days after it stops. I usually lose 1 pound every other day. Sometimes I'll lose a pound the next day but it's usually just every other day.

Add me to the list! I'll lose a few, stall for a week, lose a few more, stall again, etc. Frustrating, but at least the overall trend is downward, right? LOL

You're not alone. I had R en Y July 10. I was losing 2 pounds per day for a week and a half and then dead stall. It's been a week and no change. I'm going to take the advice of the others and stop weighing myself each morning. Kind of like stopping when you start losing money at the slot machine after you've been winning for a while! Good news is I tried a pair of pants on at the start of the stall. A week later, they were almost too loose on me. Evidence that I'm still shrinking despite the scale. [emoji4]

Same thing here. RNY 7-12-17 losing a # each day, now stalled. I figure its part of the process so I need to up my exercise each day and since I am also eating "food" now instead of shakes, I will start dropping again when the body is ready. I am going to continue to weigh myself just for tracking purposes. Not worried as I am sure I will continue to lose!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
