faithmel 1 Posted July 9, 2017 11 days Post op sleeve. Having hard time with Protein. Can I just drink the protein waters instead of the shakes? Long as I get 60 grams of protein? Thanks for any help and info you can provide
James Marusek 5,244 Posted July 9, 2017 Right after surgery, your body is in a major heal mode. Many people find it difficult to meet their daily Protein and Fluid requirements during the first few weeks. So don't be too concerned. Just keep trying and you should soon be able to meet these goal. There are many forms of protein. Just experiment and find the one that you can tolerate the best. They all work. Just make sure it has no sugar or low sugar content. 4 faithmel, Missy161, ProudGrammy and 1 other reacted to this
Missy161 395 Posted July 9, 2017 My surgeon said for the first couple of weeks focus on Fluid. I put unflavored Protein Powder in my Water and it helps get to my Protein goal. After you can eat more it's a little easier to get the protein but I am learning it has to be a conscious effort and adding protein powder to everything you can helps. 1 ProudGrammy reacted to this

Twonky 10 Posted July 9, 2017 So, have you tried the Isopure drinks? They are 20 oz bottles that come in several flavors. I tried the melon apple and loved it; the pineapple banana something or other was pretty good; the passion fruit and blue stuff were NOT good (IMHO). That apple melon seems like a great way to get Protein, but it's like $4.25 a bottle. 1 Missy161 reacted to this
Sherrie Scharbrough 311 Posted July 9, 2017 I totally can NOT drink those. I didn't like them at all. Nor the Atkins Brand of flavored protwin waters. YUK I commend anyone that can handle them. Good Luck You must do whatever you can to get it done.

I drink GNC Lean shake 25 gr protein pre-mixed btle - um, um, good!!! really tastes delicious - only way to fly in my opinion. Swiss chocolate is what i love. drink and then drink some more. At 6 weeks i had to go to hospital - i was dehydrated. had IV put in with ??? and stuff (electrolytes??) it was on valentines day! DH brought me flowers!! i gave them to nurses so YOU drink, and drink and then drink - do as i say, not as i do!! speedy recovery good luck kathy
