Now I can't tolerate any shakes. The paleo shake I can do, but I have to dilute the heck out of it. I found a great alternative to shakes! 4 triple zero Oikos yogurts equals to 60 grams of Protein. It coats the tummy and heals it with the Probiotics. 🙂

This sounds awesome. I am kinda tolerating the premier shakes 4 days post-op but don't think I will be able to do them for long. This sounds like a great way to get my protein in while still on shakes and soft food. Thanks for the info!

I usually love Premier Protein shakes and 6 weeks out still drink about 2 a day. However, every once in a while I go through phases **TMI warning** where the shakes go right through me and I get diarrhea. Bad. When that happens I switch to the paleo powder or Vitamin Shoppe brand chocolate Meal Replacement. Less Protein but tastes great.

Bad feeling after drinking Premier Protein? Does anyone else besides me get a bad feeling after drinking Premier Protein? I love the flavors but I have to lay down for about an hour after I drink one it makes me feel very weak and sick!

I have a reaction While I'm drinking them. Makes me nauseated.

I get the same with Muscle Milk. I think it called Protein bubble or something is other forums for working out. I moved to a flavorless protein that I can mix in crystal light

Me!! I take Lactaid to help control it, but about once a week it still gets me. PP is still my favorite, though, and easy to buy in bulk.

I hate the weird after-taste. I use Solgar chocolate Whey-to-go Protein Powder. My Nut approves of this brand. And it is farkin' delicious. I am 6 weeks post-op-sleeve, and I have this every morning, on my way to work and through the morning. Mixed with either skim milk or unsweetened almond milk.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
