Hello, I am in the process of getting things going to have this surgery, I have a friend who had the lap band surgery and he is always sick, always throwing up and having issues with his stomach. I am just curious how much of a life style change is it having the sleeve. what has steered me away from doing this in the past is basically seeing my friend in constant turmoil from the lapband.

Thank you.

well everyone is different. My initial thought is that your friend might not be eating properly which is leading to him being sick.

Of course the sleeve, or any weight loss surgery will require a lifestyle change. You will have to eat healthy and follow a diet that your surgeon and nutritionist will give you. Surgery is a commitment to change your life to be healthier.

This pretty much sums it up. If it makes any difference in your comfort level, I have had both a lap band and now a sleeve. The band was way worse for discomfort in my opinion.

The rare person ends up with that kind of trouble with the sleeve. Most people are much more comfortable than that. Personally I am as comfortable as I was preop, I just get full sooner. There are foods that don't agree with me, but it isn't a big deal. I just experiment with what works and what doesn't.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
