I need suggestions and help.

I'm a month and a week post op.

I also work 2 jobs so I'm out of the house from 8am til about 10:30 pm. I've been packing food for the day, which isn't much obviously, but I need more options. What are your easy to grab and go foods? I've been doing chicken and Tina salad and sodium free coldcuts and things of that nature but I'm getting bored.

The other part of this is, foods that I normally really enjoy are starting to turn my stomach. I'm not sure if it's the food or it's actually me. It's happened the last few days. I thought I was hungry (it had been a couple hours between meals so it wasn't head hunger) and then when I went to eat I felt sick. Sick like, slightly nauseous and not hungry anymore.

Just wondering if anyone had any input for me. I do have a doctors appointment coming up so I will discuss it with him, but in the interim I'm curious if anyone else has experienced this.

(Side note, I used to always be hungry but then my DR. put me on omeprazole a week ago)

Thanks in advance!

I am over 3 months out. So my schedule is different and I do Keto Diet for myself. My day consist of the following:

Breakfast - shake or 2 egg Whites (boiled or scrambled) with 2 pieces of turkey bacon. Or a lettuce BLT wrap (turkey bacon of course and lite mayo).

snack 1 - Turkey salad (Romaine Lettuce, 2 oz of turkey and Slice Tomato). I also make my own Salad Dressing.

lunch - Stuffed green Bell pepper or diced chicken with guacamole, mozzarella cheese and some sour cream.

Snack 2 - Protein Bar

dinner - Whatever was left over from Lunch lol.

Snack 3 - 14 olives and 1 pickle. I love my Olives and Pickles.

My suggestion is try Pinterest. Type in "Low Carb or Keto Diet Recipes". You will find a lot of interesting recipes to try.

I hope this helps. This is just a limited list. Each week is different.

One of my favorite grab and go lunches might be the healthiest, but I like it. I purchased a bag of frozen meatballs at Coscto, carbs are very low and Protein high. The serving size is 5, but I only eat 3-4 and am full. Season with salt/pepper. I snack on cheese during the day too.

I've been making my own carb free chicken meatballs and making enough for the weak. I've done Buffalo, BBQ, and now chicken parm. They're what's saving me and helping me hit protein goals.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
