suzy1313 10 Posted July 6, 2017 I had my revision on 6/26/2017. I feel like I may be an oddball because I'm not seeing other threads with the absence of issues. Please understand that I'm thankful and wish we all could feel this way, but I'm starting to wonder if I'm an anomoly. I am able to drink fluids and Water without issues. I'm supposed to be on liquids only but absolutely feel like I could progress to soft foods. (I have snuck had a cheese nip or two). I don't get esophageal spasm unless I take a big gulp, or drink too rapidly. I only feel gross after eating if I choose to eat/drink something full of sugar or fat, or if I eat too rapidly, even though I think I'm going slow, but apparently not slow enough. I have really struggled on the liquid diet in that I'm so over this. I like most people, love to chew. I was never one to drink smoothies, milk shakes or eat Soup or yogurt. I want to chew! Lets just say I haven't been the most compliant patient on liquids. What is my point? Not sure. I guess I just want to know if there is anyone else out there who feels like I do? 1 ladygg1967 reacted to this

Generally you feel like you can handle more soft foods because when you're first sleeved your stomach still is healing, nerves included so you might not feel the irritation, but it's vital to let your stomach heal. If you must chew, try gum.. I know you're not supposed to, but you're not supposed to eat food either so I'd say choose the lesser of the two evils 1 SheLand reacted to this
hmm33502 187 Posted July 6, 2017 Yeah. Absence of issues here too. I did, however listen to doctor's instruction. He progressed me to soft solids in 1 week and all solids within 2 weeks. Let your stomach heal and DONT get the cheese nibs started. Don't mistake head hunger for actual body hunger. It gets better in a couple of weeks.140lbs down......I speak from experience! 2 ladygg1967 and kathyatcare reacted to this
