Hi guys I'm 9 weeks post opt and exercise has been a struggle I don't eat a lot one or two meals a day. Plus Protein milk and Protein Powder to get in my protein a day. But I have no energy to work out and when I do I get dizzy. I haven't worked out in two weeks, I'm still losing weight but I know I need to do more but just can't. Any advice?

There's no need to exercise right now. In the weight loss phase, your food choices matter more than any other factor.

I am not opposed to exercise. In fact, I run almost daily and lift weights three times weekly. Exercise is good for many things such as improved cardiovascular health and mental well-being. However, you can lose plenty of weight without one minute of exercise during your honeymoon phase.

You say you don't eat much. The combination of undereating and exercise is known to cause notorious stalls and plateaus. I'd wait a couple more months to resume exercise if I were you.

Good luck to you. :)

I wonder if you are not eating enough. My doctor recommends 5-6 meals a day. If you have a few more calories you should have more energy to exercise. Have you consulted with your NUT?

You may not be eating enough. You should be having 4-6 small meals a day. (Honestly, some days I do not eat because I am not hungry). However, you may not be getting in enough Protein.

If you are dead set on working out, try C4 - Pre-workout. I drink 1 scoop 30 minutes before a workout (only when I am not feeling in the mood to workout). That thing gives me energy all day

Just do what you can and don't pressure yourself to go past your limit. I'm 6 weeks out and walk 1.5miles a day. I was hoping I'd be back to my regular 3miles a day by now, but I've blacked out a couple of times. Yesterday I added an additional 500 steps to my walk and got dizzy on my way home :/

Your diet is the biggest driver of weight loss. Exercise helps, but it's not critical, so if you're struggling then take it slow. Anything is better than no activity at all.

I'm 5 weeks out and just started really exercising. I'm tired all the time, don't get me wrong, but I do a lot of stationary biking and walking and I just started weights yesterday. I find that it helps to eat a little every 2 hours. I eat a few bites every 2 hours like clockwork and I'm starting to feel a lot better. Maybe break up your meals so you're eating through the day.

I'm glad you asked this... I've been feeling bad that I'm almost 7 weeks out and still haven't really exercised. I tried doing Cize a week ago and just didn't have the energy plus I'm only getting about 600-700 calories and I'm scared if I work out I'll stall because I'm not taking enough in. I'm going to focus on increasing my calories, getting in my Protein, hydrating enough, and slowly increasing walking after reading the comments here!

It took me close to 12 wks before I could get back in the gym. I tried earlier at around 8 weeks but I struggled with low energy due
To only eat about 600 calories a day, and couldn't even drink enough to hydrate during my exercise.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
