I had my sleeve done on June 12th, and I know that everyone is different but I am very discouraged at the moment, the 1st week I lost a total of 14 pounds, the second week I lost 6 pounds, which was great but now i'm not loosing anything, and I mean nothing. I have been this weight for the last 4 days and sometimes I weigh myself and the scale goes up a couple of grams. I don't understand how I was down to 225.03 and this morning im up to 226.2.

Did anyone go through this or is anyone going through the same situation I am? I sometimes think that

I don't know what to do, I just feel like crying.

Look up the '3 week stall.' It's so common it has a name. And stay off the scale for a few weeks.

When's the last time you lost 21 pounds in less than 3 weeks? I'm guessing the answer is 'never.' You're truly doing great and the scale will start moving again.

Realistic expectations are important during your weight loss phase. Due to your starting weight, you most likely aren't going to be one of those people who loses 30+ pounds monthly. The sooner you face this reality, the merrier.

I lost at an average rate of about 6 pounds monthly. Yes, I was a horribly slow loser and it took me 17 months to lose 100 pounds. You lost 21 pounds in your first couple of weeks, yet I never had a single month where I lost that much. What matters is that I eventually reached my goal weight and have managed to maintain my losses.

Good luck to you. :)

I have not seen this with my weight loss but I have never weighed everyday. Every Monday morning I weigh, just once a week. I learned from reading what others have said here that weight can fluctuate from day to day and I don't want to see that so I don't. Maybe just weighing once a week would help you?

Yep, I never weighed myself daily either. I only weighed in once per month, about a week after my menstrual period to avoid seeing Water weight fluctuations.

Some people need the accountability and comfort of a daily weigh-in. On the other hand, I cannot weigh myself daily because the day to day fluctuations would incite disappointment and anxiety in me.

You have a lifetime to lose weight. Slow and steady. There is no way you will not lose weight on 500 kcals a day. Your body is changing, hormones are changing, you body is saying wtf! Pounds, inches, engery, ability to sit in a chair are all wins. Take them. Get off the scale!

I was sleeved on 6/1, lost 19 pounds the first 21 days and have lost 1 pound the last 11 days. Sounds like we were about the same starting weight. My surgery weight was 241. I'm 5'6. My doc says he expects that I will lose it more gradually than someone who started with a higher BMI. So I'm trying to be patient. I just started increasing my exercise and I'm hoping that helps.

You don't need to weigh everyday, you will be discouraged, I weigh every two weeks. Also just bc you had this surgery doesn't mean your going to lose 10 pounds in a week every week. You didn't gain all your weight over night, your not going to lose it over night.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
