freelee 128 Posted July 3, 2017 At my 2 yr RNY anniversary I had my panniculectomy this past Friday (June 30). I got home Sunday night (July 2). I'm so pleased and excited, plus I have very very little pain. Since I'm 64 I opted not to have muscle repair since that would increase the pain and recovery and at my age, for me, not necessary. i am already happy about the results. I am already walking straight and up and down stairs. Will post a before and after pic soon...pretty amazing. He took 3 and a half pounds of skin off, but it looks more like 9 because it looks so different.I came home with two drains and a portable wound vac which are both much less bothersome and gross than I thought they would be. I'll be glad to answer any questions........oh, and yes, my bcbs did cover it, but wont cover arms or legs (which is why I probably wont be having those done!). Very happy! 3 rnymorales, mem1 and Stella S reacted to this

Sherrie Scharbrough 311 Posted July 3, 2017 Congratulations from a fellow Panni person. I had mine when I was 2 years out also. My Surgeon removed 10plus #'s. It is totally amazing what they do to us. LOLOf course with our permission. LOL I also didn't have much pain at all. I theink that comes with the muscle repair. My PS told me the reason for a little bit of pain with just the Panni is because they don't cut the muscles or bone. We are very close in age. I am 61YO, I was 57 when I had my RNY!! One off the best things in my life!! Measures up their with marring my bestie and having my 2 children. You have done well also. Keep us in the know about your progress. Oh BTW I came home with 3 drains, which they weren't bad at all. I believe it is the fear of the unknown that gets us right. Ok talk later Have a good one!! 1 Stella S reacted to this
ssflbelle 829 Posted July 4, 2017 Congratulations! Glad to hear your doing well. Even though it was only 3 pounds I bet it makes a world of difference in how you feel and look. I am also 61 and just last week had a breast reduction with a FNG and am doing great as well. The next surgery if approved will be my tummy. I have a lot of damage as a result of losing over 280 pounds. If my tummy turns out as great as my Breasts my back is going to feel so much better. I already notice a difference in the 6 pounds they took off my breasts.
