Good. So do you have to keep it covered? You don't have a fever so you? Thanks for updating us.

My coworker took his wife to Mexico for liposuction and Tummy Tuck. She got a bad infection and went to her local hospital and they took great care of her. Don't be afraid or ashamed to contact your doctor or go to your local hospital. It's your health that's important.

I don't have a fever or anything, he told me to keep it dry and covered.

I'm so glad you've got good care! Thanks for the update. You already know to keep an eye on it if it gets worse or you develop a fever.

Here's wishing you a speedy recovery!

I am so relieved you contacted your doc! That wound looked really angry and dangerous. Hopefully you are on the mend now!

Omg, go to the ER now. don't play around with an infection that looks like that. I was sleeved on 6/19 and I'm still a bit tender and my glue sutures are almost all off, and a tiny bit raw after the scab fell off, I just put some silver cream on it. but nothing like you. You need to see a Dr. I can't believe your dr will wait so long to actually see you. No Bueno. Find another Dr. and get your self to the ER ASAP. I don't know why you are sitting around waiting... just GO!!!

Update- 7 days of cephalexin every 8 hours. No fever and keeping them covered for now!

And yes I am from Canada, but our ERs are still a nightmare. The Dr. Visits are covered but for me the medications are out of pocket. Hopefully these will do the trick though, appreciate everyone's concern. All spots generally feel ok at the moment, one is even a bit itchy (taking that as a good sign of healing)

will update in a few days again

thanks everyone

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
