Hi everyone! So I've creeped along the forum for some time now, but have never posted anything. Well I just had my Sleeve done June 28th, and today is my first day home. I'm suppose to drink 2 Protein Shakes a day, and I'm struggling. I've drank 1 and it took me almost all day, but this second one is killing me. If I tried to drink this and finish it, I think I will be up all night long. I also have to drink my Water to get the 2 liters a day. I know everyone's diets post op are different, but what if I'm unable to finish it? I'm going to try, but I'm nervous I'll be unable to. The thought of doing this all over again tomorrow and the following week is making me so nervous. Did anyone struggle with the 2 shakes a day? Any tips or advice? Also is it totally terrible if I'm unable to finish this second one? Sorry for all the questions, I don't know who else to ask.

Hello! I am 3yrs post and i had the same struggle as you if not more. I have never drunk a full Protein Shake, my body just would not let me do it..... So i decided to use the Protein Powder and fix it to my liking.... But dont stress to much over things like that, your only a few days out..... GL hun!!!

Thank you all! You have put me at ease tremendously! I was beating myself up and making myself sick yesterday just to get in that second one. But I will focus on Water intake and try my hardest on Protein. Thank you everyone!

Ladies can you tell me. Is the procedure pain bearable?

Post op pain is pretty severe. Once you get past that it is painful to roll on your side and coughing or sneezing kills! BUT you will be so glad you did it!

The Fluid will be the most important. I'm scheduled July 12th and just went through a 3 hour pre-op class. Very helpful. My doc requires two weeks of Clear Liquids right after surgery then two weeks of milk based liquid then two weeks of pureed before the intro to solid foods. They told me staying hydrated is more important than anything the first two weeks. So definitely don't worry so much. You will get there. Blessing to you on your journey to the new you. GrInS :)

I would definitely select one that you like with a good taste. I really like the Unjury brand and even the unflavored kind is great because you can add it to anything and it doesn't have that aftertaste that some of them have. It's hard, but maybe try changing the time that you are getting your drinks. I try morning and as my afternoon snack. If I miss the afternoon then I do it as my bedtime snack..I'm not up too much at night by doing so. Good luck!

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
