OkieMom2 2 Posted June 30, 2017 I have my surgery scheduled for August 1st. July 10-15 we are going on a small vacation with friends and I'd like to enjoy a few drinks or shots. I'm not a beer drinker but asking if anyone had drinks this close to surgery? I will still be three weeks away and not in my two week liquid diet phase. I won't drink everyday but wondering what the thoughts were on occasional drinks while there?
Navigating the Wilderness 824 Posted June 30, 2017 Other than the empty calories, I don't think it's a big deal and wouldn't worry about it. Have fun, then get your mindset on the surgery. At least that is what I would do. 1 Caligirl T reacted to this

HRHMKB 76 Posted July 1, 2017 I agree. I don't think it'll make too much of a difference for you! Have fun. I'm 6.5 months post op and get tipsy on half a glass of wine!

Mufasakc 5 Posted July 1, 2017 I was wondering the same for myself. I've been drink free for two weeks. Surgery date is July 25th. I'm not gonna drink until after surgery and Im healed. Getting to close for me.
Greensleevie 451 Posted July 1, 2017 Why don't you ask your surgeon instead of looking for validation on an internet forum?
KittyV 27 Posted July 1, 2017 My surgery was December 27, my preop diet started December 12. We had our Christmas dinner December 11, and that was last splurge before surgery. I drank a bottle of wine throughout the day, knowing that it would never happen again. I too, watched the amount I drank for the two months before, but this was my celebration. Enjoy your last little bit, because you want to be able to dedicate yourself to this lifestyle. It is amazing process. I wouldn't change a thing!Kitty
