I haven't really had any cravings until yesterday, all I wanted was Pork rinds. I'm in my 6th week post op. I think the longer you go without the bread, it'll get easier (and less cravings for it). Hang in there....there are alternative ways of having bread....have you tried making the cloud "bread"? I've never made it myself, but supposedly it's good...slap some low fat cheese or something in it and have yourself a cheese toast sandwich. :) Now, the wings...bake them. Don't eat the skin...and use some hot sauce (if it doesn't give you heartburn). Might just help with those cravings.

All I want is a toasted bagel drowning in butter. That's what I've wanted for like, 3 weeks now. But I'm being strong. But I still want it. I'm holding out til October for carbs. I'm going to Paris and I'm eating all the breads. Well, not all the breads because my stomach won't allow it but I'm trying all the breads!

It depends on your doctor. I'm on a no carbs for 6 months diet. [emoji30] 1 down, 5 to go.

Oh gosh [emoji20] I'm seeing him for my 6 week check up on the 18th so will ask him.

You guys can eat wings that aren't breaded and Pork rinds. They're both low carb foods.

I'm allowed breads as long as they are whole grain on my diet, however they fill me up so quickly I try and avoid bread as much as possible. Though I do on occasion have a slice of bread with PB and I've had half a bagel once.

I now it's not the exact same but my solution for a toasted cheese is a cheese quesadilla. I use the Mission Carb balance wraps with melted Mexican shredded cheese and a little salsa, so good but I'm sure you can us any type of cheese!

I'd kill someone for some French bread. Plain. By itself. I can't have bread for 6 months (5 more to go!). I'm hoping I won't even want it by then, though I'll be in Paris so that won't be likely!

bread addicts LOL...F*** Bread ....Bread is the enemy....Now that Ive made you laugh...

As Cedric the Entertainer says Bread is the New crack!!

I want to eat bread too just a little every now and then, so I eat a wrap although my Dr suggested no bread, the wrap gets me full in like 3 bites so its not satisfying and it hurts going down...so id rather eat more Protein to get substance...We eat to live remember folks?

My Dr says no to bread until 6 months...so we broke up Bread and I.

Lets make this a non bread day and love our new curves and skinny dresses and hot summer outfits more than bread...one day at a time right?? LOL..enjoy!!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
