Fill Prices

Guest latinagirl

hi, I am new here but wanted to add that I will be going for my first fill and consultation with dr.shariat.He charges 550 for the first fill and consult.Any fills after will be 350.00. I compared between going to him or going back to Dr.Oritz (he's great) taking into consideration 279.00 airfare, 100.00 fluoro, plus 2 night stay hotel, and of course 7 hour flight. So I figured the first vist with Dr.shariat with just a 2 hour drive will be about the same but I'll have someone thats closer in case of problems and fills after will be cheaper than traveling.I am selfpay so need to try to save as much as I can.

Well little One...you've done the math,,Dang 550. I'm asuming on the somewhat the east coast..

That's alot in my book. 250 max for me under flouro (with insr).

By Inamed standards I'd ask for 1.3cc if that's your band.

We're all different

Also, some of the Mexican doctors have specials during the year, like if they have a seminar or a bash. If you go, you can get 1/2 price fill.

I was re-banded in July, due to slippage. My insurance did cover everything, for the second time. This is not always the case, just my particular situation. These are questions you may want to ask you insurance carrier. Hopefully, you'll never have to be concerned with this issue. :D

I was banded in Acuna, MX and I pay 50.00 for a fill, 50.00 more for an x-ray, and 100.00 for flouro.

I live relatively close to MX so it's no big deal to drive there for my fills. I go for my second one next Sat. the 15th. Hoping for some good restriction.

Becki :D

I am about 50 miles from Dr Ubanks in Portland,OR. He charges 150 for fills and another 100 if you need fluoro. I went to Mexico for surgery paid 10500 plus flights.

I found out Dr Ubanks does it in Portland for 12500 if you don't need to be hospitalized.

I go tomorrow for my second fill.

Hey Kathy,

You paid $10,500 for your surgery? Did you go thru a referal service such as belighter.com? I thought I paid a lot at $9000 which included the referal service fee thru belighter (a complete and total rip-off). How did you second fill go with Eubanks? Isn't he a doll? Best wishes, Teresa

Teresa, I paid $10,500.00, hospital, $4500.00, doctor, $450.00 Anest, $150.00 psych eval. That's a lot of money per lb, LOL.

Hi Pat,

I was curious about Kathy having paid that much since we had both used the same doctor within weeks of each other. Lisa had also used the same doctor just days before I had and she only paid $7500. It just amazes me about the variance in Dr. Lopez's pricing. I also get my fills from Dr. Eubanks in Portland Or. and pay the price Kathy quoted. Seems pretty reasonable compared to the rest of our states' prices. Teresa

It's good to hear you fills are the same price, but OMG the cost of inflation from Dr. Lopez's office is hard to keep up with.

You've only had one fill and lost 78 lbs, you go girl.

Teresa, Nana, I have answers!!! (Nana, let's see your cute face... avatar, please.)

I wanted to know why everyone gets charged different, so I asked, and it all depends on the facility. It's not Lopez getting different amounts, it's the hospitals. I went to Oasis of Hope, which was at the lower end of the pricing scale. Penni went to Sanoviv (sp?) so it cost her tons more cuz that's a fancy resort.

When I scheduled my band surgery, I had no idea that we had a choice of facilities, so they took me to the Oasis of Hope, and I was pleased.

Also, when Kuri removed my port, I asked for the cheapest facility.

Some facilities have an ICU unit, making it more desirable for some people. Other facilities offer spa amenities that appeal to others. The day of my surgery, Lopez had 2 patients. We met at the airport and rode to his office together. But I went to Oasis alone, and she was wisked away to some fancy resort. So on the same day, I paid $7,500 and she paid over $9,000.

I actually had a breakdown of what each facility charged, but I didn't think to save it. Duh.

Also, this could be rumor, but I heard Lopez had a special running awhile back. Also, someone posted that the Molding Clinic is running a special. So I don't know if these "specials" reduce the rates of the surgeon, or if you get a reduction in hospital costs.

Also, if you go through a coordinator like Belighter, you'll pay more. Plus, some doctors bump up the price to include fills. Some docs have a menu to chose from: Surgery alone, or surgery plus some follow up and fills.

Meanwhile, I suppose each lab can have varying prices. Some labs might charge $50 for the use of their fluoro equiment, while more advanced facilities would charge twice that.

Boy, I feel like I finally contributed valuable information, even if I can't type for Beans today.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
