Newbeva 73 Posted June 28, 2017 I had an ultrasound done last week to check my gallbladder. My provider's office called me today to schedule an appointment to come in to discuss the results but couldn't discuss them with me over the phone so I called the imaging center and they sent me the ultrasound report. In it it showed that I have moderate to large amount of sludge in the gallbladder and also that I have a "hyperechoic mass involving the left lobe of the liver" and recommended a CT for further visualization. My surgeon's office told me there was no rush in me coming in to discuss the results so that makes me feel a little better... but I wanted to know if there was anyone else that had had this show up on an ultrasound after the surgery. They didn't mention a mass after surgery so I'm assuming it wasn't there then. part of me wonders if it is from the liver retractor.
Berry78 4,261 Posted June 28, 2017 I'll bet you're right. Maybe your liver became bruised during the surgery. Ask your doc whether Actigall might help your sludge when you go in. Keep us posted! Fingers crossed that everything comes out good! 1 Newbeva reacted to this
Newbeva 73 Posted June 28, 2017 Thanks. I will ask when I see him. The scheduler said it'd be a pre op so I think he is wanting to just go ahead and remove it. I will have to wait a little while though cause I've only been back to work 3 weeks. 1 Berry78 reacted to this
PatientEleventyBillion 851 Posted June 28, 2017 It's also very common for liver damage to happen after surgery -- I don't think people realize how much stress it's put under due to the operation, and it can cause a wild variety of issues, benign lesions being among them. 1 MSinger reacted to this
