SweetGisy 41 Posted June 28, 2017 Hello everyone, so I am very torn with how much recovery time I actually need. I had the lapband and was sore for 3 days, I milked it and took two weeks off. This time around I dont want to take time off I dont need ( I have kids now)- so how many days off would is appropriate? I really need and appreciate the feed back! 1 coyote reacted to this
TheCurvyJones 721 Posted June 28, 2017 I had my surgery Dec 21st 2012. It was at year end on purpose because I knew I would have all that time to recover. I could have honestly gone back in a week but I'm glad I had an extra week to chill. I've seen people go back in about 7- 10 days and do fine, but every person is different. Just remember to take it easy, no lifting for 10 days post op and if you need to sit and rest, do it. I felt fine but I was just tired. Around 8PM I hit a wall and I was done for the day. It took me a few weeks to really feel like myself. 1 SweetGisy reacted to this
Navigating the Wilderness 824 Posted June 28, 2017 That's such a tough thing to answer, and really only you will know when you are good to go back to work. Many people go back in a week or less. I took off three weeks, felt fine after the first 7 days and almost went back to work, only to have fatigue hit me like a brick the second week. I just wanted to share with you because I thought I was all set after 7 days, and was not. 3 ProudGrammy, SweetGisy and dilenia1983 reacted to this
SweetGisy 41 Posted June 28, 2017 Thank you guys for sharing your specific situations. You guys are right-I will def be based on the individual and perhaps even the work. I work from home for my 1st job so Im thinking a week off is enough as Im sitting on my butt all day lol. My 2nd job which is home care nursing out in the field I will likely take 3 weeks off. I am just really scared about the lethargy /foggy headedness. Lets see how it plays out. Thanks again!!
TheCurvyJones 721 Posted June 29, 2017 Just remember: Protein and hydration, take a break when you need to. You'll be great. 1 SweetGisy reacted to this

coyote 93 Posted July 6, 2017 Just wanted to stop by and say congrats on the surgery date! We're getting sleeved on the same day. Will keep you in my thoughts! I've scheduled a week off of work then doing 1/2 days the next week (11am-3pm) if I can handle it. Maybe you can do a few 1/2 days to slowly ease back into working. 3 mollynkids, ProudGrammy and SweetGisy reacted to this
