Joann454 1,329 Posted July 2, 2017 I haven't been told to by my doctor but I have some leftover from a previous doctor, so I've been taking one the past couple of days based on what people are saying here. 20mg Prilosec. Doesn't seem to be helping the hunger. Are you getting all your Protein in?
Drea2017sleever 0 Posted July 3, 2017 I just had my surgery on June 27th and I feel like I am hunger all the time. I suppress the hunger pain by drinking plenty of Water. Is this normal?
AmandaWho 158 Posted July 3, 2017 Im not to impressed with my sleeve im 3 weeks post op im hungry, i havnt lost much eitherGive it time. I'm a month out and all of a sudden in the last week none of my clothes fit. I gave up weighing myself because the scale wasn't moving. Keep making the right choices and you'll be fine. Give it more time.
RHmama 42 Posted July 3, 2017 Are you getting all your Protein in? I'm getting about 75 grams in....but only netting about 500 calories a day on this puréed food stage. I don't think I'm getting enough Water.

What do you mean netting? If you have an app that subtracts our exercise calories I would warn that they notoriously inflate exercise calories.Anyhow 500 calories is pretty normal for the first three months. I didn't get above 700 till maybe 6 months and I was running several days per week 3-4 miles.I would try increasing your acid reducer. I was on double the strength you are on and it took that to make the tummy rumbling hungry feelings to go (40mg protonix prescribed by my surgeon but 40mg over the counter omeprazole works too. Know that these meds don't work immediately like tums you need to take them for a couple of days usually before you notice a difference).Or it could be head hunger.Or you could be one of the unlucky few who get hunger. Most don't if they can control the acid and mental part.Water won't help the hunger part. Though you should make sure you drink enough because of dehydration. Anyway, I just started exercising because I had some pain at my main incision site, that's why I said I'm netting 500. 600 calories is about the most I'll get in a day. 1 Linda67 reacted to this
