melliecat 55 Posted June 27, 2017 Hi All, I wonder how you handle someone who says, "You're so skinny. I hate you." It is awkward and I have no idea how to respond...thoughts?
Ms skinniness 3,003 Posted June 27, 2017 I have a friend that said that. I told her thank you and I love you. She worked it out bc it was her issue not mine...Sent from my SM-G900P using BariatricPal mobile app 5 leahglass, Babsbeh, dawson62704 and 2 others reacted to this
Berry78 4,261 Posted June 27, 2017 It's all about presentation... With a smile, or a fork in the eye? Assuming its the former, tell her she has the better (shoes, hair, husband...) so y'all should fight it out. Whoever wins gets to be thin AND get her hubby. And BING! the bell rings... 3 Ms skinniness, njgal and akaet reacted to this

Cali_love89 16 Posted June 28, 2017 I would say something like, "I hated skinny girls too but doing so never made me lose a pound." Even if you didn't hate them, it might be a statement to make her reflect on her misplaced jealousy.Sent from my LG-H872 using BariatricPal mobile app 1 DeeM reacted to this
Carriec07 3 Posted June 28, 2017 I would say I learned to love myself and that's all that matters. Maybe she should do the sameSent from my LG-H831 using BariatricPal mobile app 1 leahglass reacted to this
asantiago 89 Posted June 28, 2017 Hello i would not take it personal. Try not to take it in a bad way. By that person telling you just you are skinny, it's a good thing and take it as a complement. Also realize there will be many jealous people out there more than ever. I don't think that person meant to hurt you. They just saying that because they may be unhappy with themselves. I been told so many things and worse things because the people who have told me are actually jealous but I learned to ignore it. There are a lot of things I would tell them but I like to avoid issues because some people do not know how to handle certain things. The best thing you can do is ignore them if you can and if you can't just say "Thank You". 🙂 4 blondie66, dawson62704, akaet and 1 other reacted to this

blondie66 271 Posted June 28, 2017 It can be tough especially because we don't see ourselves as skinny for a long time if ever. I just giggle and say thanks when people say I'm a skinny b***h...but sometimes it makes me a little blue especially when I feel there is anger behind the comment. Not much you can do just remember it's their issue. Honestly losing weight has brought up some issues with family members who are annoyed with me losing weight but I just remember I don't have to please them....this is my life and they have the power to make their own decisions. 2 melliecat and UalreadyKnow reacted to this
