Sleeved_Lisa 0 Posted June 27, 2017 Met with the surgeon today. He wants me to do a 3 week liquid pre-op diet. 3 weeks! That will be absolutely brutal. Also, he mentioned that I can't use my bi-pap for a few days after surgery so I don't swallow too much air. But my AHI is 137 so that seems dangerous and I literally can't fall asleep without it anymore. These things are making me nervous so I'll review more with the office but is this very common? hmills653 365 Posted June 27, 2017 Hmmm. I was told I had to have it with me in the hospital to wear immediately. He said it was not safe between the sleep apnea, anesthesia, and pain meds. However I wondered if that did contribute to some of my gas problems, my belly was always rumbling, IDK.Sent from my SM-N920T using BariatricPal mobile app
angelgloria 11 Posted June 27, 2017 I am due to have my surgery on July 19th and I was told to remember to bring my Bypap with my when going to the hospital. Its very dangerous not to wear it every day. I would check with your doctor once again before you to to surgery. Best of luck to you...
cajun_queen 94 Posted June 29, 2017 I also was told to bring my cpap to the hospital, and continue using it at home. I would bring it if I were you. 1 angelgloria reacted to this
rainyann 118 Posted June 29, 2017 That is odd... I used the cpap machine the night after surgery in the hospital... The pulmonologist even visited me in the hospital to ensure I was using it
