I will be 3 months out on July 4th. So far I have lost 45 pounds but it takes a lot to lose...in my opinion. I must admit that I don't get in all my Water most days. I am so forgetful when it comes to my Vitamins but I am setting an alarm to start taking them better. I am stalking like 2 weeks at a time. Will I ever get back to losing rapidly? I want like 15-20 pounds a month...maybe I am not being realistic?

I'm not losing very fast either. I look at all these people who got their surgery around the same time as me and are at 40-45 lbs lost and I wonder what I did wrong to lose only 28 in the same time. It's disheartening.

After surgery, individuals loose weight at different rates. The three most important elements after RNY gastric bypass surgery are to meet your daily Protein, Fluid and Vitamin requirements. food is secondary because your body is converting your stored fat into the energy that drives your body. Thus you lose weight. So adhere to the program guidelines.

Since you are at 3 months, there is one thing you might try if you haven't already.

Your daily protein requirement is met by a combination of the amount of protein you obtain from food combined with the amount of protein from protein supplements (protein shakes, protein bars). Right after gastric bypass surgery, the volume of food you consume is minuscule (2 ounces) per meal. But as you get further along, the meal volume increases. Therefore you have a very important option available to you. As a result, you can begin to reduce your reliance on Protein Shakes. I went from 3 a day, down to 2, down to 1 and eventually none when I reached 1 cup per meal at a year and a half post-op.

This is important because protein shakes contain calories. If you can reduce your caloric intake, then you can end a stall. At least that was the approach that I used and it worked for me.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
