How many pounds are you suppose to lose from May to now June 2017

Recommended Posts

I had gastric bypass May 8th, 2017

I was 256 and today I'm 208

I feel I lost a little bit of weight.

This is what I eat because I can't eat meat even if it's puree.

Morning: Premier Protein shake

Afternoon: fat free Greek yogurt ( black cherry, strawberry, blue berries

Around 4pm I buy a large mango smoothie from Dunkin donuts. IT will take me about 3 - 4 hrs to finish it.

And I also eat 2-4 bags of nacho cheese sunflower seeds. The past week

I drink Water and crystal light.

What can I do to eat better and lose weight?

The reason I got this surgery is because I have intracranial hypertension...severe headaches. So they say losing weight and getting some injections on my forehead I should feel better.

I'm getting desperate

Honestly I think you are on track unless we both are off. I had surgery May 4th and have lost 45.5 pounds. I thought it would fall off quicker as well. But I do actually eat. I am one of those people that can actually eat anything but very small portions.

You're way ahead of me... I also had my surgery on May 8th and I've lost only 28 lbs (started at 323). Don't stress, you're losing fast!

I had surgery in February and am down almost 44 lbs. Everyone loses at a different rate based on physiology, diet and exercise. Some are way ahead of me but as long as the scale and is moving in the right direction I'm good with it. You're doing great!!

How much Protein are you getting a day? Also is that smoothie full of sugar?

I have surgery 5/2 and am down 55# but that includes the 21# I lost pre-op. I think your weight loss is on track.

I have a friend that had surgery two weeks before me. She had no preop diet and has lost 80# post op. It's hard not to be jealous or get down about it, but we are different people.

Thank you everyone.

Maxthecat I drink 2 Premier Protein drinks a day now. Since I saw the surgeon on Monday. How I'm not able to tolerate puree food.

I also eat almonds, sunflower seeds .etc

The smoothie is sweet. But I'll cut that down to once a week.

I just need to eat more

One of the pieces of advice I saw on my diet sheet is to ensure that you don't eat or drink for more than 30 mins. Makes sense to me. Have you actually counted the calories and protien and sugars in what you are having? Also does much of the food contain salt

Is it also normal not to lose anything the first week? I had the r+y July 3 and I haven't lost anything! Is it too soon to begin to panic?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
