Walter.Sobchak 978 Posted June 25, 2017 Hi All, Just wanted to provide an update. My wife was sleeved yesterday and she is in a lot of pain. We were not mentally prepared for how much pain she would be in. She has had two C sections, gall bladder removed, appendix removed and hiatal hernia repair and handled those like a champ. After sleeve surgery she is miserable. She is having buyers remorse. I am scared as my surgery is in August. Navigating the Wilderness 824 Posted June 25, 2017 You will find almost everyone has buyers remorse after surgery. Mine didn't come until a month out, but it passes and things get better. I promise both of you it does get better! 7 Walter.Sobchak, njgal, specialkron and 4 others reacted to this

Apparently the scar tissue causes more pain. I hope she feels better soon. I'm 10 days out, and tonight is the first time I've had any pain...a little stomachacheSent from my SM-G930T using BariatricPal mobile app 1 Walter.Sobchak reacted to this

I hope it passes quickly. Been thinking of you guys and knew hers was getting close. I know you're scared but the pain is a small price to pay for a healthy and hopefully longer rest of your life. She'll heal and the pain will be gone and things will get exponentially better. 3 Walter.Sobchak, ProudGrammy and Dashofpixiedust8 reacted to this
aliasgrace 3 Posted June 25, 2017 Normal to have some pain after surgery. Try Naprosyn and Tylenol suppositories (alternating) to get on top of pain . That helped take away my pain . Take them regularly for a couple of days , even if pain is just starting . I wish you all the best! Hang in there. 1 Walter.Sobchak reacted to this

Thank you for thinking of us. I am hoping she feels better soon. I think we were naive about the surgery and the recovery time. Plus, our three year old daughter jumped on my wife when she was sleeping. She literally jumped on her stomach. I feel bad for my wife and I am scared now. I don't know if I can handle the surgery. However, I don't want to be super morbidly obese the rest of my life either. I was up and going quite soon after. So your experience wont necessarily be hers. Be there for her and support her. I hope she feels better soon, but it doesn't mean YOU will have as hard a time of it! 3 able2cope, Walter.Sobchak and ProudGrammy reacted to this

littlesammm 0 Posted June 25, 2017 It does get better! I'm only 5 days post op and was not prepared for the pain after surgery at all. It was a rough 48 hours, and I too had buyers remorse and wasn't sure if I had made the right choice, but I did. Hang in there, each day gets a little bit easier! painter88 101 Posted June 25, 2017 I had the same thing. I wasn't prepared for so much pain, but it gets better within 2 weeks and back to normal by 6 weeks. Seeing results is what gives you the boost needed.36yo MaleHW:308SW:302CW:228Sleeved 01/30/2017 1 CocoNina reacted to this

Sent from my SM-G900V using BariatricPal mobile appThe day after surgery I was extremely miserable. I would not talk to anyone. The nurses had a hard time with me, but they were extremely patience with me. The next day was better, talking more and walking more. The day after much better. Each day is better, two months out I have no regrets. Everyday is still a challenge, and this is not easy by no means, but I think it was worth those fews day of being miserable in the hospital. 1 ProudGrammy reacted to this

Walter.Sobchak 978 Posted June 25, 2017 How's she doing today? Did you manage to get some sleep? She is feeling a little better. We both got some sleep. Our kids are being ornery, I think cause they have been cooped up in the house too much. We are taking it one day at a time.
