magooz07 0 Posted October 10, 2007 I hope your feeling better, was you able to get any fluids in? I think fluids would be helpful it sounds like it could of been the pain medicine and taking it on an empty stomach
stacy73 2 Posted October 10, 2007 did your doc prescribe you any anti nausea meds? mine did-i didn't need them but i did have nausea while in hospital-nausea can be caused by the anasthesia
want_so_bad 0 Posted October 10, 2007 when i talked to the doc yesterday he was really worried i was getting dehydrated. i sipped Fluid all day, forced myself, and took some anti-nausea meds and slept and slept and slept. and then slept somemore... my hubby would wake me up, make me drink, and then i was out again. must have been what i needed. i feel much better today. and i plan on drinking, sipping ALL DAY! i havent felt as bad as i did yesterday, i dont think ever. this morning i have had some gaterade, tea, and Protein Drink. thanks to everyone that responded. that was scary yesterday. i even started thinking, WHAT THE HELL HAVE I DONE??? but i know, after i am healed and filling back to normal, this will be the best thing i have done for myself! make33 2 Posted October 12, 2007 So glad you got over it! I was banded on Tuesday, October 9th and came home on the 10th. When I got my liquid pain meds, I took the first dose--and IMMEDIATELY I had the feeling of wanting to vomit (no nice way to say it!)--and no, it wasn't just a wave of nausea. (And yes, the "side effects" noted this!) I sipped Water and walked around for a while, and once I began on a Protein Shake, it subsided. Since then, if I take pain meds (only three times in two days), I take HALF the dose! (My husband says liquid pain meds work instantly) When I see my surgeon on Monday, I'm going to mention it to him. But I wanted all you post-ops to know, too... TitanVA 0 Posted October 12, 2007 I was banded on Tuesday as well and have been fairly lightheaded and nautious as well. I think it is mainly due to the pain meds as well. i have to make sure I take them after eating some Soup or something substantial. As long as i do that I am fine. I can't wat to get to mushies. heyshelbyjean 0 Posted October 13, 2007 Hello all, I was banded on Oct 11. I am feeling really bloated with lots of gas. Is this normal? Plus, I made the mistake of getting on the scale today and only have lost 1 pound. How can that be? I am drinking Clear Liquids and I've only lost a pound in 2 days. That seems ridiculous! Anyone have any words of encouragement??

Anyone have any words of encouragement?? Right after surgery alot of us have actually gained weight because of all the IV fluids they pump into us. So don't fret! Stay on the liquid diet and in a week or so you may have a big drop in the scale - and walk, walk, walk to keep the gas pains at bay and to keep yourself moving. The bloating takes a while to go away, but walking really helps... Brenda
heyshelbyjean 0 Posted October 13, 2007 Thanks for your words of encouragement. I have been reading so many stories of women not losing the weight they had hoped for that I was starting to get freaked out. The last think I want to hear is that people have been starving in between meals. When did you have your surgery and has your weight loss been satisfactory?
