so a lot of people at my place of employment are sick. gues who caught what ever strain of cold/flu is going around. yep...this girl. my surgery date is july 26th and this illness just started even though i feel very crappy right out the gate. when i get sick it tends to hang on me for longer than normal because of my compromised health conditions like diabetes etc. what if im not better or in full health by surgery date? will they cancel it if im still a little sick? ive come too far for this to be put on hold. any advice, remedies, consoling. sympathy, prayers....i need it all!!!! :65_mask::51_scream::57_cry::47_tired_face:

Only your surgeon knows. You don't want to be under anesthesia being sick!

Here is a wish that you get better much quicker than you anticipate! To answer your question about cancellation, it would most likely be determined during your pre-op hospital visit. They will run a bunch of tests to determine if it is safe for surgery.

There's a possibility but it's still a week out. I had a panniculectomy on June 5th. Guess who got the flu the week before...yup me. I told my surgeons office and they just checked on me the day before and said it would be fine. It depends what your symptoms are. If you are all congested they could cancel it. Really the only thing you can do is she was symptoms you have at the time of your surgery. It usually anesthesia that would cancel the surgery over the surgeon. I hope it clears up soon!
