Not at all what I expected, little discomfort but nothing I can't handle. I really wish I would of done it a long time ago.

I had mine on June 21st 2017 too! I'm having incredible gas pains. Are you still having gas pains?

Surgery is on Wednesday 28th. Can't keep my mind off it. Only thing I am not looking forward to is the gas pain. Sounds wimpy but that hurts worse than anything!

I have had surgery before and had a lot of gas pain , I was sleeved Wednesday at noon, prepared for gas pain so I bought a couple boxes of gas pain strips and haven't even had to open them. I was on pain meds in the hospital for the first day. I was up walking around the nurses section same night but slowly. Second day had one pill in the morning. I was discharged on Thursday by my own request because I had very little pain. Sunday nite I wasn't feeling too good so I took some zofran nausea sublingual tabs to stop some nausea, realizing I had forgotten my Protein Shakes so I drank one slowly, I felt a lot better in a couple hours. Its now Monday and I am still a little dizzy, so I am drinking my shake early. The marks on my stomach from surgery are so small and not much discomfort at all. I have five tiny puncture incision's and I have steristrips covering them, no stitches at all. If I had to do this five times just to get the results I want I would do it over and over. I have already lost about 16 lbs. I know its because I'm only drinking Protein shakes but I'm NOT feeling hungry, the first day I woke up at home I thought I was really hungry so I put aside my wanting to eat eggs and toast I ate SF Jello. I was stuffed, immediately not hungry and sticking to my diet. I can't predict what will happen in your surgery experience but mine has been minimal and I'm so happy I did this. I feel my energy coming back but I over did it Sunday and that's why I got nausea because I forgot my protein intake. No matter how good you feel you have to take it easy because your biggest wound is in your stomach and you can't see that just take it slow and you'll do great.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
