Hi everyone,

My name is Sabrina I was sleeve in Mexico April 16th of 2016. My starting weight was 344 and today I am 208. Im hoping to get some feedback from some others that had surgery around the same time as me. I feel like I can eat to much and maybe I stretched my sleeve some. Could you maybe tell me what you can consume in a day so I can compare? Still to this day I have absolutely no regrets and I never want to go back to the way things where before. Please help!

Let me first say, you look amazing! Keep up the great work! I was sleeved in February and at about Month 3, found my appetite really getting larger. I am still eating a lot of Protein 4-8 oz per meal but lately also saw a jump in my carbs. I got pretty lax over the past week (holiday cookouts) and didn't exercise as much and ended up gaining about 5 lbs. everyone is different so I would suggest just monitoring your macros to make sure your staying in the right nutritional zones set by your doc. And make sure to keep moving.

You have done a great job and look amazing. My surgery was 4/26/16 and I have lost about 80 lbs. I still want to lose another 30+ lbs but it is much harder now. The focus has to be Protein first but like others on this site I find I eat more carbs than I really should. Even still I am much, much healthier than I was before the surgery, I look better and feel so much better. The whole trick is to not let the pound creep back up!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
