I had the sleeve done 4 days ago and surprisingly I can go all day sipping Water and my stomach agrees just fine. But I'm still constantly thirsty!! It's not just like a lil thirst it's like a "been walking in the desert for 24 hours and haven't found any water yet" thirst. Does anyone know what I can do?

Just keep sipping, just keep sipping  I'm 15 days and able to take pretty hefty sips. You'll get there too, promise!

Did you try sugar free popsicles too? Are you drinking broth that has salt in it? I was really thirsty after but figured it was because I went from being hooked up to an IV for 1.5 days to not.

I tried sugar free popsicles and it seems that they give me dumping syndrome directly after. It's pretty weird. My broth does taste pretty salty but I assumed it's my new taste buds.

Keep sipping. I felt dehydrated the day after I came home. I just kept sipping, even as far as setting my timer on my phone just to make sure I got the fluids, caught up, and didn't have to go back to the hospital. I was super nervous Bc I vomited for more than 36 hours postop, at least once an hour. Horrible!! Good luck!

I started sipping but found I could take a larger amount. Being at work is very hard to keep drinking. At 6 months still at about 32 oz daily. If I run, then I can drink more. It all depends on the day ,and If my stomach will want plain Water or not. Some times I will take a couple of drinks and my stomach gets all knotty. I then try to get some propel water or a bai drink.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
