Protein Overnight Oats

Recommended Posts

I stumbled upon this recipe for a Protein packed overnight oats recipe that I've been eating almost every day and I'm loving it, maybe someone else will like it.

Before bed I mix a container of greek yogurt (12g protein) and a scoop of Protein Powder (the brand I use is 20g per scoop). Once it is smooth I mix in 1/4 cup of milk (4g protein) and a packet of high protein instant oatmeal (10g protein). I put a handful of frozen berries on top and put it in the fridge until morning. When I'm ready to eat I mix it all up and it's very good. The total protein ends up being 46g. It's more than I can eat in one sitting but I usually eat it for Breakfast and lunch and if any is left as a snack later.

My favorite flavor combo so far has been raspberry yogurt with a scoop of chocolate powder and frozen raspberries.

Sounds delicious, the only thing I'd change would be the type of oats you're using (instant is overly processed) for steel cut or rolled...other than that it sounds great...and great protein content if spread it out over several meals (my doctor said anything over 30grams a meal is too much protein at one time for a body to process and goes to waste.

Thank you for the recipe!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
