valkh 1 Posted July 6, 2017 Thank you for reiterating on the reason why.... it just drives me crazy, is all. I was able to understand it when my surgeon explained it. Thick1 0 Posted July 10, 2017 Hello...i am just starting this process to prepare for sleeve surgery. I am required to meet with a dietitian for 6 months prior to surgery. I met with her and I did not feel she was very personable. She told me I need to eat 80g of Protein daily. Did anyone else get this requirement as well? I am just confused😞

Each bariatric surgery program has different requirements for their patients. Nonetheless, the dietitian at my bariatric surgeon's practice also has a minimum Protein requirement of 80 grams daily. This is the way you'll need to eat for life. If you stray from this requirement, weight regain is a real possibility. Good luck to you. DianeJarrett 155 Posted July 10, 2017 80g of Protein seems to be the standard. It was part of my pre-op and post op plan. Might as well get used to it 6 months out, it will be the rallying cry for a long time to come! Good luck!
