Jean E. 95 Posted June 18, 2017 Tomorrow I will be one month post op. I expected to feel so much better by now. I feel weak and shakey several times a day. I don't have any energy to do much. When does this crappy feeling go away? I am ready to get going. 1 nomorefattypatty reacted to this
Sherrie Scharbrough 311 Posted June 18, 2017 I didn't have the DS But if you are getting all of your Protein and fluids you will become stronger. Hang in there. dsdesigna 143 Posted June 18, 2017 First of all take a deep breath. It will get better soon. How soon really depends on your own body. Keep in mind your body has been through extensive invasive surgery that in itself takes weeks to recover from. Add to that your bodies new digestive process and you have a formula for what will be a challenge. Don't compare yourself to others and their progress. You are saving your life. You'll be down 100 lbs before you even realize it. Your joints will hurt less. You'll be able to walk stairs easily. You'll have the energy you need. Be kind to yourself. You've made a huge life change. Be confident and proud of that choice. Rest. Drink plenty of fluids. Keep up with your Protein. Get out and walk. It gets better! 4 Lexington1020, Jean E., Frankw19 and 1 other reacted to this
Dr-Patient 830 Posted June 18, 2017 Have you checked your blood pressure? With the weight loss, your BP might be quite low compared to what was your usual. Also, your sodium might be low. Not advising this, but when I felt that way (around the same time you are) , one day I sucked on potato chips to just give me a bit of salt, to raise my BP a wee bit. It helped. Felt much better. If you feel really woozy, check with your doctor. 1 Jean E. reacted to this
Jean E. 95 Posted June 18, 2017 Thank you. I seem to feel better when I eat something, like a spoon of cottage cheese. The problem is, I never want to eat.
Ldyvenus 317 Posted June 18, 2017 Make your self a Protein Shake and sip, sip, sip. Sound like your body needs some fuel. 1 Strivingforbetter reacted to this
Berry78 4,261 Posted June 18, 2017 If you feel better when you eat, it probably means you need to eat more often. Could be low blood sugar. Many of us got into trouble by "eating all the time".. but after surgery, we HAVE to! Hardly two hours pass that I'm not working on something, and I'm 3 months out. 1 Strivingforbetter reacted to this
Joann454 1,329 Posted June 18, 2017 It still happens to me too. It did today. I know why though, it's hot and I get busy and forget to drink and eat. I have now eaten and taken a cool shower and have my feet up. I can't let myself do this anymore. Can you think of any reason it may be happening to you? Jean E. 95 Posted June 19, 2017 I think I may not be eating enough. I have to force myself to eat as it is. And I have hit a 6 day stall so that does make me want to eat more.

I know how many calories and macros I'm eating and on days I feel lousy it's directly related to food or Water. Try using one. Most are free. 1 Strivingforbetter reacted to this

court2180 30 Posted August 8, 2017 I'm 2 weeks out on Wednesday & I've not been eating enough (getting enough fat in) & been lacking on my Water. I'm hoping when I go back to work Wednesday being back in a routine will help with all of this. I will get weak after doing something like bringing groceries upstairs, taking a shower stuff like that. kmanddj 0 Posted August 8, 2017 That was me, barely getting 25-30 oz in and lucky if I was taking in 500 calories a day. I called the dr and they said to try the vitamin patches as there was no way I'd handle pill form yet. I couldn't even walk I was so weak, but just like that it turned around
