I'm 6 months out and so happy with my 55lb Weight loss. I'm only 15 lbs from my goal. The only problem is my boobs. I want to get a lift. I did some research and found it's not too expensive. Was wondering if anyone out there did the same? Insurance won't cover right?

I also have some skin in abdominal area. Sorry to be gross but it's a prime area for infections since it doesn't get air. A friend would go to her doctors for it and he would give her cream. And. Me after doing this for a year she is having surgery and insurance is paying for it.

My doctor told me prior to surgery that I will need skin removed from my belly. He told me every time I get irritation under there to go to my doctor and have it documented. That way when its time the insurance will cover it because it is out of medical necessity. They will not cover a Tummy Tuck though. If you're getting irritation under your breasts you may also be able to get a reduction but probably not a lift. It's all about cosmetic vs medical necessity worth the insurance companies. Honestly I'm hoping my won't be as bad bc I don't want surgery ever again lol.

Insurance won't cover your boobs unless there was some medical necessity, a lift usually isn't one. An exception might be if you had so much excess skin because you went from an H to an A-B, resulting in a heaviness in your smaller frame, skin irritation, etc. Not for aesthetic reasons.

As for tunnies, same thing applies. Not everyone needs tummy surgery. Mine shrunk back more than I though it would, even after being 100+ lbs overweight and having 4 pregnancies. It's still saggy and could use some help, but it isn;t the end of the world to me. My boobs do need serious help and for that it's on me.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
