Today I'm finally in the overweight category as far as my BMI goes. Very cool!

I feel as though my appetite has increased recently, so I was worried that I was eating too much. That's despite sticking to my macro goals and weighing my meals.

The strangest thing about losing 79 pounds is that I feel as though I look the same as I did 6 months ago. The mind is a dangerous thing!

Congrats on leaving the obese ranks! I feel that I look the same as well, but I can definitely tell when I need to fit into certain areas, like a small chair, that I have drastically changed. Keep up the good work!!

I have lost 78 pounds (though I still have another 75 to go before I'm out of obese range) and I too feel like I look the same. Luckily I took high weight pics and the day before surgery pics after I lost 50. I plan to take more pics at 1 month post op and again at 3 and 6 months post op just so I can see the difference. My eyes have never been honest with me when looking in a mirror. But they certainly are when looking at photographs. lol

I hear you. The chair thing is noticeable, also sitting on hard surfaces is much more uncomfortable now.

Dang, I wish I had taken before pics, but I avoided cameras like the Plague. People are telling me that I'm wasting away, so I'll have to trust them!

I wish I had taken photos also. I look for pics and realize I hid from the camera a lot.

Congrats on your weight loss!

Congrats on your weight loss!

I took photos the day before surgery. I had on a sports bra and pj bottoms. I don't think I had really looked at my body in a very long time. It broke my heart and shocked me. I am taking pics tomorrow which will be four weeks out. I don't think there will be a big difference but I'm going to do it every month along with measuring myself. It was advice given to me by someone on here and I'm glad I took it even though it was painful to see myself.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
