The feeling of being very uncomfortable and confession.

The incisions have got more tender after the glue and scans are coming off by themselves and I have sciatica in my right leg that is like lightening pain.

Just why...

I did a bad thing a cheated a little tiny bit on my full liquid diet with a few solids because I wanted to see what certain things tasted like now. My dumbass did it, yet my stomach didn't hurt or get upset. I got sleeved on the 6th and right after, I went straight back on the liquid diet. I am a dumbass and messed up, I know I messed up and went straight back to the full liquid. The 20th is my first follow up and I am ready for purée/mushy food.

I have lost 35lbs in total from a month before surgery and after surgery. I have been playing with my nephew a lot (Only if sciatica doesn't stop me.)

Sneezing is not my friend with these incisions.

Only know difference of where I lost weight at is my boobs, thighs, hips, my face got slimmer and my stomach jiggles a lot.

I did the same - at eight days out I had a few bits here and there. At my two week check up my nutritionist freaked out. I'm hoping no damage done.

I went back to liquids after.

My surgery plan had me on solids by day 4. So I have been eating solids since day 4. No harm done. Granted I had RNY, but my program has you on solids by day 4 if you have the sleeve as well.

As for sciatica pain, it is why I had the surgery. To try and prevent an other back surgery to alleviate the pain. I did end up having to get a nerve block after wls, because things had moved around during the surgery so the pain was so bad, but now at 3.5 months out, I feel so much better. I'm also 69 lbs down, including 2 weeks pre op diet.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
