Miranda.Oil.Nurse 6 Posted June 15, 2017 Hey my surgery was June 13th morning, I was discharged yesterday afternoon and the pain seems worse at home. I barely can eat or drink, have some belching, some productive cough, pain with every sip of Water and ever movement. Is this normal?
tabula 54 Posted June 15, 2017 If you have any concern I'd definitely call your doctor. I assume you're taking your pain medication? There's a lot of discomfort but with meds shouldn't be intolerable pain, again I'd consult your physician. Important to get that Water down in many many many small sips. Also, try to move around, helps get the gas in your system out. I was on a liquid diet the first week, so wasn't "eating" anything. Seems like everyone's recovery is very different. I able to get off pain meds after 3 days but there is definitely discomfort.
Lannie 135 Posted June 16, 2017 I was sleeved on Tuesday too. I'm uncomfortable but not painful. I found that I need to set a timer and just take the pain meds as scheduled even if I don't think I need it. If I go too long then I have a problem. It is a lot easier to get my fluids in when I'm not so uncomfortable.
