got2lovejenn 4 Posted June 14, 2017 I was always a social drinker before my surgery. I was wanting to know if anyone had drank? How long after surgery? And was better wine or liquor? And yes I know it's never going to be the amount it was before? I would just like to have a small glass of wine? RedOrangeSunrise 53 Posted July 15, 2017 I am not there yet. Definitely enjoy having a drink with friends, abstaining for diet and psychological reasons until after surgery/ recovery BUT, I have thought about it. My ideas of acceptable drinks include minimal sugar, so a nice bloody Mary (check your mix), or a gin and diet tonic (if carbonation doesn't cause gas pain). Irish coffee is a classic. There are mixers which are lower in sugar or sugar free. Red wine does have more sugar than white.Sent from my Nexus 5X using BariatricPal mobile app
